Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams has said she can't wait to see what her fans think of her upcoming stint in Doctor Who.

Williams, who has risen to fame as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, is set to appear in an episode when Doctor Who returns to BBC1 on September 19.

Details of her character have not been revealed, but she spoke about the show while being featured on CNN's Ones to Watch.

As someone who has always watched and enjoyed Doctor Who, she said: "It's quite daunting to be a part of such an iconic series, but everyone was so lovely and they are such a great team, I slotted in straight away.

"I can't wait to see what the fans think of it."

Peter Capaldi, who plays the Doctor, recently described her cameo on the show as "cosmic".

Jenna Coleman, who plays the Doctor's assistant, said: "It's a very intriguing storyline with her connection to us and to the Doctor."

Williams (18) joined Game of Thrones aged 12, and told CNN that she had learned things like the vocabulary on set and how to behave.

snap

Meanwhile, Maisie has threatened to end the internet as we know it with a snap taken with Daniel Radcliffe over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con.

Seeing Arya Stark with Harry Potter was enough to whip the world into a frenzy - but throw in Jenna Coleman and Hannah Murray and it was almost too much for fans.

The actress wrote on Instagram: "I think this photo is gonna make the world implode..."
