Fassbender back home for film shoot

IRELAND'S sexist man Michael Fassbender is returning to shoot a new movie.

The Prometheus star has been cast alongside Domhnall Gleeson in new Lenny Abrahamson film Frank.

Fassbender, who has already played a superhero, an android and a sex addict, is expected to get some quality time at home.

Earlier this week, the Kerry native was voted the fourth sexiest man in the world. He was beaten by Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and Tom Hiddleston.

Abrahamsen's latest film What Richard Did opened last night. Abrahamsen also directed the critically acclaimed 2004 film Adam & Joe starring Mark O'Hallorhan.

Frank focuses on young wannabe musician Jon (Gleeson) who discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious Frank (Fassbender).

The character of Frank was inspired by unique performers and musicians such as Captain Beefheart, Daniel Johnston and Frank Sidebottom, who often performed wearing a giant papier-mache head. Fassbender also dons a fake cartoon-like head when performing in the movie.

Gleeson (29) recently starred alongside Kiera Knightley in Anna Karenina but is best known for his portrayal of wizard Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films.

Gleeson -- the son of The Guard star Brendan Gleeson -- also just wrapped up filming on Richard Curtis's latest rom-com About Time.

The script for Frank was penned by Jon Ronson and Peter Straughan, who were behind the bizarre 2009 comedy The Men Who Stare At Goats, which was based on Ronson's book.

BAFTA winner Straughan also wrote Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
