From Holywood to Hollywood.

Irish actor Jamie Dornan has landed the lead role in the movie version of 50 Shades of Grey, according to reports.

The former Calvin Klein underwear model takes the place of Charlie Hunnam, who dropped out a month after being announced in the role of Christian Grey. Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie left the project as he was afraid of being typecast, like Robert Pattinson was after the Twilight movies.

Dornan (32) was brought up in Holywood in Co Down – but he could be moving to the Californian version if the movie takes off.

Filming

The actor is best known for his roles in Once Upon a Time and recent BBC/RTE hit drama The Fall.

He was also regularly pictured in gossip magazines as he dated Keira Knightley for two years.

Dornan underwent a screen test opposite female lead Dakota Johnson last Friday in front of director Sam Taylor-Johnson, author EL James and producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti.

Tony-nominated actor Billy Magnussen also screen tested, as did Francois Arnaud from The Borgias.

The pressure was on to find a replacement for Hunnam as the project was due to begin filming on November 1. The studio hopes to have the movie in cinemas in August of 2014.
