ONE Direction fever hit Dublin today as the chart-topping boy band landed in the city.
The pop stars, led by our own Niall Horan, touched down late last night but still managed to have a low-key night on the town.
A small number of fans at Dublin Airport were left disappointed after the boys were picked up on the runway and quickly ferried to their hotel.
It is understood that the group are staying at the Fitzwilliam Hotel ahead of their appearance on The Late Late Show tonight.
Security will be tight at RTE headquarters in Montrose from early afternoon as the station attempts to cope with the legions of screaming fans desperate to catch a glimpse of the pop superstars.
The boyband -- who are on cloud nine after bagging a number one slot for their new single in the US -- will arrive at RTE this afternoon ahead of their chat show appearance with host Ryan Tubridy.
An RTE source has said: "Security will be there for the night and although fans are always advised they probably won't even get to see a band, they turn up anyway full of hope."
While it is not known where exactly the handsome lads ended up last night, tables were reserved for the guys in top Dublin haunt Lillie's Bordello and it was also revealed that the boys had the morning off.
The band were clearly planning to party last night with Mullingar native Niall (19) keen to show off his home country.
Irish girls were no doubt hoping to bump into the stars who have all become pin-ups since finding fame with the band through The X Factor in 2010.
While baby-faced Niall is reportedly off the market after US singer Demi Lovato revealed that they are dating, band member Liam Payne is back on the market again after he split with model and girlfriend of two years Danielle Peazer (23).
Liam (20), who clearly has a taste for the older ladies, is said to be "devastated" following the split.
However, he is not short of offers and has been linked to fellow Briton and former X Factor winner Leona Lewis.
Meanwhile, ladies' man Harry Styles (18) has said that although he may be flirty, he is not a womaniser.
Speaking to Seventeen Magazine, Harry said: "I wouldn't say I'm girl crazy, because that makes me sound like a bit of a womaniser. That isn't really me."
The band who jetted in yesterday following a promotional tour of France, are said to be here to thank fans after their new single Live While We're Young, also went straight in at number one in the Irish charts.
