THE actor behind Fair City's hapless Tommy is taking up a kinky murderous role in a new theatre production.
Geoff Minogue's character, Tommy Dillon, is at the centre of a vicious love triangle in the Dublin soap.
When wife Judith left him for his brother Luke, Tommy went on a bender that may have left him paralysed.
But Geoff says Tommy's run of bad luck is only recent.
"We only feel sorry for him lately. We wouldn't feel so sorry for him if we think of all his affairs and dalliances."
The actor was in the dark about Tommy's fate, but he is glad that he wasn't written out.
"I'm really enjoying Fair City: the scripts are great and I'm happy where I am," he said.
He is currently trying his hand in Under Pressure as an surgeon who swears that he didn't mean to kill his wife in a sex game gone wrong.
The play opens on May 27 in Bewley's Cafe Theatre for a two-week run.
Directed by Gina Moxley and written by barrister Rachel Fehily, based on her own experiences of criminal trials, Under Pressure gives an inside view of what it's like to be in the eye of the storm just before a trial for murder, as the pressure mounts.
