A New Orleans courtroom will be the setting for a real-life drama that casts Hollywood stars Costner and Baldwin in adversarial roles. A trial is scheduled to open Monday, June 4, 2012, for a lawsuit that Baldwin filed against Costner over their investments in a device that BP used in trying to clean up the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The federal suit claims Costner and a business partner duped Baldwin and a friend out of their shares of an $18 million deal for BP to purchase oil-separating centrifuges after the April 2010 spill. DIRECTOR Neil Jordan has revealed that Kevin Costner (inset) wanted to play the Big Fella in his Michael Collins movie when he first approached the studio.

He also said he knew nothing about Collins when he decided to make the movie.

Jordan said that, while he had studied early Irish history in college, he "never had that much interest in these stalwart figures".

When he first started to do research he found he didn't like the man, fearing he was like Mussolini. "The interesting thing about Collins is that in the end he did not become that."

The director said the movie may never have been made had it not followed his blockbuster Interview With A Vampire, saying he believed Hollywood was simply humouring him after his hit.
