Brainbox Liz to front science series in US

HER career has flourished since starting out on RTE, and now Liz Bonnin is taking America by storm.

The former Off The Rails host will be watched by American viewers when her new series, How The Earth Works, airs on Discovery Science this week.

She joins Martin Pepper on a journey of exploration. The series debuts on October 9.

Liz (36), who credits RTE with launching her as a broadcaster, moved to the UK in 2002.

She returned to her science roots in 2008 to complete a masters in wild animal biology, and the qualification helped her carve out a niche for herself. She has since fronted Stargazing Live, Bang Goes The Theory and Super Smart Animals.

While she turned down an opportunity to host Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain's Science Squad, biochemist Liz has been busy with regular projects on the BBC.
