Zeta-Jones leads WAGS on shops spree in Adare's posh boutiques

WHILE 40,000 golf fans watched the world's top golfers and a handful of craggy old celebrities hit balls at Adare Manor, less than a mile away the real action was taking place.

As their millionaire hubbies hammed it up at the JP McManus Pro-Am, swathes of WAGs made their way to the boutiques nearby to sample some local couture.

Superstar Catherine Zeta- Jones bought a Missoni dress from Adare's plush Isobel boutique and confessed to having a "shoe fetish" while there.

Owner Kay Mulcaire said; "Catherine came in here on her own. We just left her alone and after a while I asked her if she wanted any assistance. She told me she really liked the dress I was wearing which was a yellow and green Missoni, so she bought that and some other Missoni dresses.

"She also bought a couple of twin sets and a few pieces by Ann Louise Roswald. She also bought a dress by Oky Coky and she said she would wear it in Spain because it's very light.

"She was here with us for about an hour and by the time she left there were some people waiting outside so she stood for pictures with them. She was so pleasant, and she said she and loved shopping locally."

And the star's down to earth nature caught boutique owners off guard. Serendipity owner Elaine Cronin told the Herald that she didn't even recognise the Hollywood superstar.

Elaine explained: "Catherine came in here and I didn't know who she was. She was wearing casual clothes, loafers, skinny white jeans, a white top and a hat and sunglasses. She looked so elegant."

Colleague Tara Foley added: "She was really nice, she had a look around and said she had a shoe fetish. Louise Redknapp was also in here earlier this afternoon." The singer and presenter was also spotted in Isobel.

Kay added: "Rory McIlroy came in here with his girlfriend Holly. She bought a dress for the ball, a full-length, backless, multi-coloured gown. She was really excited about it. We also had Gillian Quinn and her daughter Aisling in here, and Caroline Harrington, although she would be in here regularly."

Several of the wives and girlfriends were also spotted in Rococo. Among the shoppers was South African golfer Trevor Immelman's wife Carmenita.
