Xpose's Karen is the face of first fashion festival

XPOSE presenter Karen Koster has been unveiled as the face of the capital's hottest new fashion event this autumn.

The glitterati of the social scene donned their finest gladrags for the glitzy VIP launch of the Dublin Festival of Fashion, which is being fronted by the popular blonde presenter (29).

The extravaganza is set to entice more than 200,000 fashionistas to boutiques and high street stores.

Hosted by Dublin City Business Improvement District, it will take over the city's leading shopping districts from October 1-3.

It will kick off with extended late Friday night shopping, while Saturday and Sunday will include a series of fashion and beauty master classes hosted by top industry professionals in salons, shopping centres, department stores and boutiques.

Visitors will also be able to take advantage of a jam-packed schedule of quirky events and discounts and special promotions.

A number of restaurants, cafes and bars around the city will also be offering shoppers special fashion-themed menus.

Speaking to the Herald, Karen said: "I just love the idea that it's accessible to everyone, everyone is a VIP, there is no velvet rope you have to cross.

"It will be a fashion assault on the city. There will be fashion shows on Grafton Street and Henry Street happening simultaneously; that has never happened before."

Among the guests at the festival's launch in the Westin Hotel were celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna, First Option model agents Jules and Trish Fallon, designers Jennifer Rothwell, Louis Copeland and Sinead Doyle.
