With a new series and a wedding to plan, it looks like a busy year for Amy

It may be only four days old, but 2010 already looks like being quite a year for Amy Huberman.

The actress is getting ready to show her funny side with an RTE sketch show due to screen next week.

The RTE star, who played receptionist Daisy in the axed RTE series The Clinic, is back with a new series called Your Bad Self.

Amy is also preparing for her dream wedding this summer to the Ireland rugby captain Brian O'Driscoll.

The new show is a six-part sketch comedy show and features some of the most recognisable faces from Irish stage and film.

As well as Amy, Michael McElhatton, Jason O'Mara and Peter McDonald will be starring in it, amongst other cast members.

The new series was commissioned after a successful pilot screened in December 2008.

According to RTE: "As the title suggests Your Bad Self is about the dark side -- the sketches are for the most part observational, non-political and sometimes slightly surreal.

"It has recurring characters, but it's not about catch phrases -- you're more likely to recognise the situation than the punch line."

The new show is described as being "about the things we think and do not say".

It has a team of writers behind it, and the characters in it will develop over the course of the series.

Amy is a very popular actress, having previously starred for seven years in the hit medical drama The Clinic, in which she played the role of the dizzy receptionist.

Meanwhile, Amy and Brian are set to hold their wedding bash in July at the 19th century Lough Rynn Castle in Co Leitrim.

The rugby hero went down on bended knee and popped the question to his girlfriend of two years last March, just after the Irish team celebrated their historic Grand Slam victory.

The meticulously-restored 42 bedroom castle, the ancestral home of the Clements family and the notorious Lord Leitrim, is a very popular wedding venue.

Amy explained previously that it is a fantastic location with private grounds.

The couple began dating in 2007 after meeting through a mutual friend.

Amy's new show, Your Bad Self is a Treasure Entertainment production for RTE, and was directed by John Butler and produced by Ben Kelly.

The executive producers on it are Rebecca O'Flanagan and Rob Walpole.

Your Bad Self will be broadcast on Monday January 11 on RTE Two.
