Will TV deal make Jedward the new Ant and Dec?

WATCH out Ant and Dec -- Jedward are snapping at your heels as RTE and the BBC line up TV projects for the pop twins.

The Herald can reveal how Lucan-born John and Edward Grimes (19) are set to take over the small screen later this year, when they host their own quiz series for RTE's children's department.

Due to their hectic schedules, the Eurovision stars will not be in a position to record the programme until late October, with plans to have the show on the air before Christmas.

The former X Factor stars are expected to integrate some of the highlights from their live tour into the show, which will see contestants joining in the mayhem when plucked from the audience.

"Jedward are pencilled in for a three-day shoot in October to record their new show for RTE's kids' TV department," said an insider.

"They're still ironing out the exact details of what it will entail but it looks like it will be a combination of the show they do on their live tour and a quiz show."

The busy twins also have another TV project coming up for the BBC's children's channel, CBBC.

The series, called Jedward's Tour of Britain, will see the twins turn tour-guides as they visit World Heritage Sites across Britain.

The pair are also expected to return to the X Factor as mentors later this year to help Louis Walsh's acts.
