We'll wed close to home to help friends – Rosanna

Her fiance Wes Quirke may have popped the question on the sandy shores of Mauritius – but model Rosanna Davison says her wedding will be closer to home.

The 29-year-old will be opting for a ceremony much closer to home so her friends, and their babies, will be able to attend.

"We loved the idea of going to Mauritius or some place like that but we think we're going to have to go some place closer," she told the Herald.

"But it's not possible, a lot of my friends have kids or are pregnant and can't travel far, so we're going to have to go someplace in Europe."

Wes got down on one knee in January when Rosanna and her family were on holiday.

The chatty former Miss World thinks she'll be walking down the aisle in the South of France or Italian foothills.

"I've looked at a lot of venues in France and places like that. But I think you can't really tell if it's the right venue until you visit it," she explained.

DRESS

The ceremony will take place in the summer of 2014, but Rosanna says she's already spent hours, if not days, scouring the internet for the perfect dress.

"I seem to spend hours and hours looking at wedding dresses," she laughed. "I don't want a meringue-style dress and want to steer clear of the whole 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' look."

"Nothing that lights up or flashes or twinkles. I want something very simple."

Rosanna won the Look of The Year Award at this year's VIP Style Award.

Her friend Dawn Fitzgerald designed the winning number but Rosanna says she's wary of letting Dawn design her wedding ensemble.

"My friend Dawn has offered but I don't want to put her under the pressure.

"Doing a wedding dress is a big deal. And you wouldn't want to risk falling out with a friend because it wasn't done right," she explains.

The slim model has just finished her studies and is now a qualified nutritionist.
