Wayne's sons set to ride into the capital

THE sons of actor John Wayne will ride into town for an event to honour their godfather, movie director John Ford.

Patrick and Ethan Wayne will be interviewed by RTE's Miriam O'Callaghan during their visit to Dublin.

Wayne took the lead in the 1952 movie The Quiet Man, in which he played an Irish American who returns home to stake his claim to his family's land.

He brought his four children on location, and director Ford gave them parts in the key race scene.

The interview on June 7 will be part of a tribute to Ford.

"Ireland holds a very special place in our hearts, and of course it did for our father, whose grandfather came from Co Antrim," they said.
