Vivienne hopes to set pulses racing in Fair City

CARRIGSTOWN is about to get a lot hotter.

Top model Vivienne Connolly (35) is in talks with RTE bosses about a part in Fair City.

And while the mum-of-two is already a familiar face on the social scene, she is set to become a household name if she lands a role on the hit soap.

The catwalk queen, who split with her husband Mark Dunne (36) last year, has thrown herself into her acting career and has been meeting with show bosses to discuss a recurring role on the show, set in the fictitious Dublin suburb of Carrigstown.

Vivienne, who already took part in an intensive acting course at the Irish Film Academy, is fresh from a stint on the stage, playing Jocasta in the Smock Alley Theatre's production of Oedipus last November.

As well as her success on the stage, she recently starred in a low-budget independent film In World, directed by DJ Bad Vegan.

But Vivienne was remaining tight-lipped this morning about her involvement with the show, saying: "To be honest, there's nothing confirmed yet, so I can't even give you a comment."

While little is known about the new role up for grabs in Fair City, it would throw her even further into the limelight.

Although she has refused to discuss her relationship status in any great detail since her split last year, Vivienne revealed that she was putting all her energy into becoming a successful actress.

"I'm grand, I'm getting on fine. I'm just keeping busy with work and keeping the head down," she said last year.

"I've a few different bits and pieces on the go at the moment. I'm still modelling when I can and I'm pretty busy with the acting. It seems to be all or nothing so I'm just taking on what I can.

"Juggling it all can be tough enough. I'm looking forward to a well-deserved break when it all calms down," she added.

Vivienne currently lives in Castleknock with her young children Ben (6) and Katie (4).

And in spite of the media interest surrounding her marriage during the time of her split, pals close to the model revealed that she wouldn't be giving any tell-all interviews.

"Obviously people want to know the nitty gritty of what happened and get her side of the story, but Mark and her don't want any big hullabaloo about it," a source said.
