Virginia's big day is on hold as Sonya ties knot

The wedding bells may be chiming loudly in the Macari household -- but only one stunning sister is actually planning to walk down the aisle this year.

The Diary can reveal how Virginia (26) has decided to put her nuptials to Norwegian businessman Kaste Dahl on hold until 2014.

But the Dublin Housewives star is still getting in lots of experience for her own big day, given that she has been busy helping her LA-based, actress Sonya Macari, with her wedding plans.

Sonya will be exchanging vows with her partner of ten-years, musician Colin Devlin, at an intimate ceremony in the Three Patrons church in Rathgar on October 19.

She'll wear a bespoke gown by Winnie Couture in Beverly Hills and they'll have the reception at the K Club where they'll be joined by just over 100 guests.

Yet although Virginia, who has a baby named Thor (7 months), is "really excited" about the nuptials, she has no intention of following suit for a while.

"I want to wait until Thor is a bit older so he can take part in it and be our ring bearer in the church," she said.

"To be honest, I probably won't start planning it until spring of next year. I know that we really want to have it in Italy but, beyond that, we haven't made any plans. I'm fairly sure that it won't be happening next year but we're in no rush at all."

The half-Italian socialite got engaged last May after partner Kaste went down on bended knee during a romantic trip to New York City.

The scene where he surprised her with the big question in Central Park was also caught on camera and is due to form one of the highlights of season 2 of Dublin Housewives.

Virginia has now taken a break from filming the programme, which is due to resume shooting at the end of next month -- amid rumours of two new castmates joining the show.

And she proved she has certainly got her pre-baby shape back after stripping off for a photoshoot for Suburbia magazine, which sees her gracing the cover.

The stunning shoot is featured in the magazine, which is on the shelves tomorrow

She also described Kaste's proposal to the mag as "the most romantic thing ever."

"He brought me down to this restaurant on the lake called The Boat House. At six o'clock when the sun was going down, we went out on the lake in an original gondola from Venice," she said.

"Then we got close to this opening where a guy was standing there on the bank singing I Only Have Eyes For You and Kaste popped out a bottle of champagne.

"Then he asked me to marry him and at this point there were like 50 people on the bridge watching from a far and when I said 'yes' the guy that was singing shouted over to the crowed, 'she said yes' and they all started cheering."
