NEW mum Virginia Macari has held a lavish Christening party for her son Thor.
In between filming for her upcoming reality show Housewives Of Dublin, she showcased her exclusive swimwear collection at Saturday's Miss Ireland competition and took time out to celebrate her son's Christening yesterday.
The Diary can reveal the half-Italian beauty passed on the after-party festivities for Miss Ireland and opted for an early night to be in tip-top shape for baby Thor's big day.
Virginia and partner Kaste Dahl invited 50 close family and friends to the intimate occasion, which they hosted at Carton House.
The bubbly brunette, who allowed cameras to film the Christening for Housewives, told the Diary that although it's been an exhausting week, she was thrilled to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
"A lot of family were here and Kaste's family arrived over too, so it was a mix of Vikings, Romans and Celts for the weekend.
"I got Thor a beautiful silk gown and a dress for myself. The baby gown was a bit pricey, but it was a special day and it was amazing."
The Sutton native barely had a minute to herself last week in the build up to Miss Ireland.
"I've been working around the clock to get everything done, but it was all worth it," she said.
And it was stress central when bosses decided that a number of the pageant contestants looked too sexy in their bikinis.
"We had dress fittings last week, before the show, and some of the bikini bottoms looked very skimpy on a few of the girls, so six or seven of them had to wear sarongs on the stage.
"I had to scramble to find sarongs last minute and the girls didn't even want to wear them."
Virginia used 34 pieces from her beach collection, which is "very Ibiza inspired".
"The pieces are fun and colourful. I used 34 for the contest and I have designed 45. They'll be available online, in an Oslo boutique as well as in Marbella. I haven't decided which Dublin store to go for yet, but it's an exciting time."
