Vernon told me he missed Tess as he flirted with me, says model

Vernon Kay sang down the phone to one of the women he sent explicit text messages to -- and told her how much he missed his wife Tess Daly.

Glamour model Rhian Sugden (23) said that the All Star Family Fortunes host flirted behind his wife's back for four months.

Kay was forced to issue an apology on his Radio 1 show after it was revealed that he sent steamy messages to around five women.

"At times I did think 'Where is Tess?' But I wasn't complaining... Besides, he would say things like 'I miss 'T', she's always working'," she said.

"If he was p***ed, he might call me up and ask what I was doing. And he would often sing to me down the phone."

Kay arranged to see the model at a club where he was working as a DJ. After they brushed past each other, Kay texted 'You wanted to cop a feel, you want me', said Rhian. "He sent me a message: 'I saw you eyeing me up in that club'.

Kay (35) and Sugden both hail from Bolton but had never met before Kay initiated contact on Twitter.

"It started on Twitter. In September he requested to follow me," she said. "I was taken aback, but flattered. He's a good-looking guy."

"It was just harmless banter to begin with. He said Hello fellow Boltoner' and we started speaking about places we both knew." The pair went on to exchange numbers when he told her that he would be DJing in Bolton.

"We were all sat on a table together and I was drunk. I sat on my friend's knee and grabbed his leg, which escalated to a text conversation later," Rhian said.

That evening Kay messaged Rhian, saying: "You wanted me earlier, grabbing my leg."

The pair were in constant contact after this meeting and Kay would text the model any time she would appear on Page 3 of The Sun.

"He'd say, 'You looked hot and sexy', or 'Your boobs are looking great today'," she said.

"It was inappropriate stuff, but nothing as bad as people are thinking. The only pictures I ever sent were of me on Page 3, and that's because he would text saying he hadn't seen the paper that day."

She texted the presenter and DJ after the story broke but had no reply: "I heard Tess had taken his phone off him."
