Vanessa Perroncel wants to get back together with Wayne Bridge despite having a relationship with his England team-mate John Terry, she has told friends.
Miss Perroncel has been at the centre of two weeks of press reports about her friendship with Terry but has not given up hope on a reunion with Bridge, the father of her three-year-old son Jaydon.
The French model has only spoken to Bridge once since the scandal erupted, according to reports.
The couple split up last summer following his move from Chelsea to Manchester City, and Bridge is said to be "distraught" that she sought comfort from one of his best friends.
"He must be hurting and it must be horrible for him, but I still love him with all my heart," Miss Perroncel was quoted as telling friends in the Sunday Mirror.
"I wish we'd never broken up in the first place. I don't know what Wayne is thinking but if I could have him back it would be amazing, for me and Jaydon.
"I know how painful it's been for me to read all the stories this week about all these men I am supposed to have slept with so I can only imagine what it's been like for him. After all the lies written I can't imagine he'd want me back."
Antonia Graham, a close friend of Miss Perroncel, told the newspaper: "Vanessa has never stopped loving Wayne but he doesn't know if he feels the same. He is the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with, not John. She just hopes it is not too late."
Terry was stripped of the England captaincy by Fabio Capello on Friday, but put in an impressive performance as Chelsea beat title rivals Arsenal 2-0 yesterday.
