Una shrugs off wedding fashion blast as her fans hit back at critics

IRISH singer Una Healy has defended the outfit she wore to the wedding of Zara Phillips and rugby star Mike Tindall.

Critics have said that Una's strapless dress showed too much leg and cleavage for a wedding.

Una (29) accompanied her English rugby star boyfriend Ben Foden to the wedding in Edinburgh on Saturday.

The Saturdays singer attended wearing a strapless short floral dress by designer Ashley Isham, teamed with an elaborate hat by Philip Treacy which appeared to clash with the rest of the outfit, which included mocha peep-toe stilettos and a dark cream shawl.

Renowned fashion critic Imogen Fox claimed that the Irish star looked more like a WAG than a royal guest.

"The pashmina is a throwback sloane reference, the shoes a nod to sporting WAG chic and the hat reminds the royals what the likes of us plebs wear at Ascot."

And top fashion guru Liz Jones also slated the outfit, stating that the singer didn't understand the dress code for such a prestigious event.

"Una Healy, of pop band the Saturdays, has misread the occasion. The dress is too skimpy, and over-high platforms at a royal wedding are just rude," she commented

But it seems that Una is not taking any negative criticism to heart -- and is welcoming positive feedback on the outfit.

Writing on her social networking page over the weekend, the singer thanked fans for their kind comments about her dress.

"Thanks so much to everyone who complimented my outfit from yesterday, the hat was by Philip Treacy and the dress was by Ashley Isham xx," she wrote.

Despite fashion critics slamming Una's look, her Saturdays fans continued to tell her that she looked fantastic at the nuptials.

One fan wrote, "Una, you actually looked stunning at the wedding...wow". While another fan told the star, "You looked gorgeous at the royal wedding".

Una told fans that she enjoyed herself and would definitely be visiting Edinburgh again.

"We all had such an amazing time at Zara And Mikes Wedding," she wrote. "It was really something special. They are a wonderful couple. Love Edinburgh! Great place to visit."
