TV HOST Christine Bleakley completed her challenge to water-ski across the English Channel today.
The One Show presenter finished her feat in a time of around one hour and 40 minutes – with a few bumps, bruises and splashes as she fell in the sea en route.
Bleakley, who swapped her usual polished glamour for a wetsuit and lifejacket, had been repeatedly delayed because of poor weather.
But she finally got the goahead at 7.46am to set off from Dover, in temperatures of 7C, with the wind chill below freezing.
Her arrival in France was announced on Twitter from the support team, who said: “She has made it.”
Bleakley had planned to make her attempt on Wednesday but was forced to postpone it due to forecasts of gale-force winds.
She was moved to undertake the challenge following a trip to Uganda with Sport Relief in 2008.
