Tristan voted 'best newcomer' on US Strictly

IRISH dancer Tristan MacManus has been hailed by American media as the best newcomer on smash-hit show Dancing With The Stars.

The 29-year-old ballroom professional partnered celebrity presenter Nancy Grace, who was eliminated just one week short of the semi-finals.

This was regarded by many as a feat for a new member of the professional dancers team, especially seeing as Nancy was consistently given some of the lowest scores in the competition.

Entertainment Weekly, a Time Warner publication, and popular news website Wetpaint, have awarded Tristan with the title of "favourite pro" and "best newcomer" respectively.

"Tristan made quite the debut on Season 13, managing to take Nancy Grace all the way to Week Eight while bringing out her funny and even sexy side. Who knew?," Wetpaint remarked.

"It became a highlight of our DWTS week to see The Bickersons shout over each other. Just picture Nancy dancing with any other pro and you really appreciate how much warmth, humour, positivity and paaaaaatience Tristan brought to Team MacGrace.

"We can't wait to see more of Tristan and there's no freakin' way he's not coming back for another season. Even if we have to drag him..."

Mum-of-two Nancy (52) admitted that thanks to Tristan she had managed to go as far as she could in the contest.
