HE shot to fame posing in his pants for Calvin Klein, but former model and Vikings star Travis Fimmel (33) says his modelling days are over.

The actor, who plays Ragnar Lothbrok in the hit History Channel show, says these days he wouldn't strip off for love nor money.

"I'm actually not that fit, which is why I have my shirt on all the time," said Fimmel.

"I got the job a week before we went to Ireland, so I didn't have time to do all the training that the others did."

But despite Travis's claims that he is not buff enough to disrobe, the show's producer Morgan O'Sullivan disagrees entirely.

"We needed someone who looked like a real man," Mr O'Sullivan said.

"The Vikings were a different breed to us – they were broad and brawn. We found a real talent in Travis."

The Vikings received rave reviews and record ratings when it aired in the US earlier this year.

"We couldn't have written better reviews ourselves," Morgan said. "They have been amazing. The ratings were incredible.

"I've worked on big shows before, like Game of Thrones, but I was staggered by the reception to the show," he said.

Now the production team is busy prepping for the filming of season two.

It has already put out casting calls for 5,000 axe-wielding extras and will begin shooting in and around Wicklow next month.
