The Insider: Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes

EXCLUSIVE department store Brown Thomas hosted a special fashion show last night to celebrate the launch of designer Michael Kors' Autumn/Winter 2010 line.

Invitees at the event enjoyed a champagne and canapes reception followed by the catwalk show, which took place in the store's cosmetic department.

Kors is one of the leading American fashion designers, and his latest collection boasts camouflage prints, urban dresses and sleek clutches.

THE Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes was once again one of the most glamorous occasions of the year when it took place at Leopardstown Racecourse last Saturday.

Joan Rothwell, from Tinahely, Co Wicklow, fought off stiff competition to be crowned the Diamant Best Dressed Lady by celebrity judges Andrea Roche and Miss Universe Ireland, Rozanna Purcell.

The next ladies' day will take place in Listowel on Friday, September 17, with glamorous granny Celia Holman Lee set to judge the event.

IT will be a boys-only day out next month when a host of players and celebrities from the rugby world descend upon the Shelbourne Hotel for the Rugby Lunch, in aid of the Children's Sunshine Home.

The exclusive event will be hosted by charity queen Sharon Smurfit, with rugby pundits Brent Pope and Risteard Cooper on hand to act as MCs on the day.

The much-anticipated charity bash will take place on October 8 with a drinks reception kicking off from 12pm, followed by lunch at 1pm.
