Football legend Niall Quinn will be hoping to score big on the fundraising front tomorrow.

The ex-Ireland player will be hosting a black-tie ball at the Keadeen Hotel in Co Kildare as he helps the Dominican Newbridge College to honour the success of its past pupils.

Tribute will be paid to luminaries, such as Irish international rugby player Geordan Murphy, top horse trainer Dermot Weld, Eurovision winner Brendan Graham, equestrian medallist Helen Kearney and businessman William Doyle.

Dragons' Den star Gavin Duffy will be doing the after-dinner speech.

Adding some glam will be Niall's model wife Gillian, alongside businessman Graham Beere and wife Margaret, politician Aine Bray, Louise and Emer Flanagan and Brian Fallon. All proceeds will go towards the cost of building changing rooms at the college's new astroturf facility.

• Style queens will be descending on Four Seasons hotel in Ballsbridge tomorrow for the annual Unicef Mother's Day lunch.

It will kick off with a drinks reception, followed by a sit-down meal and a fashion show featuring Arnotts' hottest looks.

Among those on the guest list is pregnant model Pippa O'Connor, who's bringing along her mum Louise.

Guest of honour will be Danielle Ryan, the grand-daughter of the late Ryanair founder Tony Ryan. She'll be speaking about the work of the Cathal Ryan Trust, which has to date donated over €11m to development projects in Sri Lanka.

• Attention, veteran music fans.

The Rhythm Kings have just announced that they're reforming with a brand new album and some live dates, some 30 years after splitting up.

Fronted by writer Ferdia MacAnna, aka Rocky de Valera, they have just released a 'best of' self-title album, which will be unveiled at a music bash in Thomas House on Thomas Street tomorrow evening.

• The first fashion collection from pop princess Rihanna will be officially unveiled in Dublin.

The Umbrella star has joined forces with River Island for the style collaboration, having debuted during London fashion week.

Monday will see invited guests heading to the store's Grafton Street outlet to check out the assortment of designs. There's a 20pc discount off the collection on the night.
