The Insider

ATTENTION all cocktail makers and shakers: The first ever Sailor Jerry 'Roll With The Punches' competition is set to take place in Dublin today.

Bartenders from across the city are taking part in the punch-making contest, which will see crowds judge the hopefuls on their choice of music and award-winning recipes.

The crowned champion will bag themselves a customised Sailor Jerry punch bowl to go with their trophy and a fully paid mini-break to London in June. The event kicks off at 6pm in South Studios, New Row South, Dublin 8.

FASHIONISTAS everywhere will be swarming to get a glimpse of style guru Heidi Gosman -- of luxurious brand Heidi Klein -- next week, when the swimwear designer jets into to Dublin to showcase her fabulous Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Her designs have been worn by everyone from Sienna Miller to Kate Moss. Now we can get our hands on the fabulous beach pieces and pick up a few tips from the lady herself.

Heidi will launch her Oh Buoy! creations and accessories line exclusively at Brown Thomas' Grafton Street store on May 10.

CALLING all music lovers -- some of Ireland's top acts will share the stage to help launch a new music initiative by Jack Daniels. Well-known bands Delorentos, The Minutes and We Cut Corners are due to team up on May 18 for the JD Roots campaign, to give crowds a one-off, free live concert at The Button Factory.

JD Roots celebrates the influence of artists' hometowns on their sound and character.

Tickets can be snapped up at www.jdroots.ie.

All those who register will go into a draw for tickets. Closing date for entries is Friday.
