THE red carpet will be rolled out at the Savoy Cinema on O'Connell Street for one of the northside's best-known bands, Aslan.

Christy Dignam and his bandmates will be having the premiere of their new film Please Don't Stop on April 19.

Hailed as a must-see for fans of the true-blue Dublin group, it's described as a lookback of their highs and lows over their 30 years together.

It comes ahead of the release of their new album, Nudie Books And Frenchies, on April 20 and their gig at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday, June 30. Joining them on stage will be Kaiser Chiefs, Royseven and Red Empire.

•BELFAST crooner Duke Special will be releasing his new single later this month, Punch Of A Friend.

And the ditty will be available as a free download on his own website from Friday, April 27, with an Irish tour announced for May.

The first single taken from his eagerly awaited studio album Oh Pioneer, it's due for release nationwide on Friday, June 15.

He'll be performing some of his favourite songs from the album in the Workman's Club in Dublin on April 25 ahead of his tour from May 1-13.

•Some more musical names have been added to the forth-coming Forbidden Fruit festival in Dublin this summer.

Artists including Peaking Lights, The Cast Of Cheers, Lower Dens, The Magician and Daithi have all been added to Sunday's line-up for the event, which takes place in the grounds of Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

Taking place from June 2-4, Friendly Fires, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Mmoths have all confirmed they'll be performing. Other artists taking to the stage that weekend include Leftfield, Bookashade, Bloody Beetroots and The Field.

Tickets for one day are priced from €49.50, while two-day tickets are €89.50 and weekend passes are €115.

Joining the Operation Transformation star will be Irish rugby player Sean O'Brien and Daniella Moyles, as they show off all the latest techniques for working out in the comfort of your living room.
