- TONIGHT will see weekly Rock' n' Roll club Shakedown hold a special charity event to raise funds for Concern's emergency appeal for Haiti's earthquake victims.

The event, kicking off at 11pm, will see Kaplin and Grum performing, followed by "karaoke kidnap" in which people nominate their friends to sing for a donation.

Admission to the club will be free, but Pacino's will be donating 15pc of the bar's takings plus the bar takings of one popular brand of beer to the worthy cause.

The weekly rock 'n' roll club in Pacino's on Suffolk Street is run by Candice Gordon, who, last July, organised a fundraising concert Featuring Shane MacGowan, Jerry Fish, and Mundy in aid of Haiti charity, Haven.

- TOP models Lynn Kelly and Roberta Rowat stepped out this morning to pump some iron at the SanoVitae Health and Fitness Club, Clarion Hotel, in the IFSC in order to highlight this weekend's pumped-up Lotto jackpot.

In order to help beat those January blues, an impressive €2m has been added to the pot, bringing the total to €7.5m.

- MOBO award-winning hip hop trio N-Dubz have just announced their first ever Irish headline show at the Olympia Theatre on Saturday April 24.

Tickets for the all ages gig, which start at €26, went on sale this morning at 9am.

To date, N-Dubz have sold over 500,000 albums, sold out a 21-date British tour, had more than 20 millions Youtube views and a number 1 British single with Tinchy Stryder on the track Number One, which became one of the biggest-selling singles of 2009.

- X FACTOR cutie Lloyd Daniels will jet into town this month to play an all-ages show at The Academy, Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1 on Sunday, January 31.

This is the first Irish gig for Daniels who will be performing his hit songs from the show.

The X Factor favourite, who came fifth in the show, is the first finalist to play a full show in Ireland. Support will be provided by boyband The BLVD and a DJ.

Everyone who attends will get the chance to meet Lloyd and have their picture taken with him after the show.

Tickets to the gig went on sale at €28 this morning from all usual outlets.

- EXCITEMENT is building ahead of Ireland's first Mud Run which takes place in aid of MS Ireland on Saturday, February 27.

The fundraising event, supported by Persil, will take place at Mondello Park, Naas, Co Kildare and will feature Ireland AM's Sinead Desmond.

The 5km course, normally used for off-road driving, will take participants through fields, mud pits, water holes and over a series of obstacles guaranteed to leave them muddy and smiling.

Registration for Mud Run is now open by visiting www.ms-society.ie. Participants are asked to raise €150 before taking part in the event.
