THE dream continued for the members of One Direction as they got to grips with American actress Sofia Vergara.
Irish teen Niall Horan (18) and his fellow bandmates Harry, Louis, Zayn and Liam appeared on Saturday Night Live ahead of their visit to Australia.
Opening with their smash hit What Makes You Beautiful for viewers, chart-toppers 1D joined Modern Family's Sofia Vergara on the NBC show, who hosted the episode for the evening.
Dressed in their usual attire of sharp blazers, cardigans and vests, the band charmed fans with their performance and their funny sketch with the actress, where they played Sofia's five kids.
The heartthrobs also gave a rousing rendition of their tune One Thing, on their debut, best-selling album Up All Night.
"SNL tonight was amazing. Thanks to [NBC] for having us ... much appreciated," Niall (18) wrote on his Twitter page.
The X Factor graduates jetted out of New York yesterday and are expected to arrive in Australia to continue their world promotional tour down under.
Meanwhile, pop star Demi Lovato was cheering on the quintet as they enjoyed their appearance on SNL.
The 19-year-old took to her social networking site to urge the boys' army of supporters to watch their episode. "West Coast!! Tune into SNL if you love One Direction!! Go!!" she wrote on Twitter.
The brunette beauty last week admitted having a soft spot for Irish man Niall and dubbed the teen "adorable".
And it looks as if 1D mania will continue Down Under for the boys' visit there.
Female fans were pictured crying yesterday as they bought merchandise in the new 1D promotional store in Sydney.
