TANNING queen Marissa Carter is tickled pink after nabbing a deal to distribute in the States.

Not content with conquering the Irish market, the Cocoa Brown founder is spreading her wings and flying farther afield this month.

Marissa, who sold her Blackrock salon to concentrate on her range of fake tan, said that the deal felt "completely surreal" and is still pinching herself.

The popular brand will now launch in Miami and New York before the end of the month in a chain of 30 beauty shops called Ricky's NYC, which has a firm celeb following Stateside.

"I went to Vegas last July to meet with some US buyers but I wasn't expecting for anything to happen this quickly for me," she told the Herald.

"It can take about six months to a year to get on shelves with major retailers, so to have Cocoa Brown launch at the end of this month in New York and Miami feels incredible."

Meanwhile, top model Pippa O'Connor also has plans for a new beauty venture.

The Kildare native will be imparting her fashion wisdom with her new venture Pippa's Fashion Factory.

Pippa, who was at the opening of Blood Brothers in the Bord Gais theatre this week, has revealed how her first event will take place next month as she looks to new opportunities away from the catwalk and modelling scene.

She'll be dishing some top tips on how she manages to stay looking so immaculate while juggling motherhood.

"The first Fashion Factory is on in Powerscourt in November - I'm really looking forward to it," Pippa told the Diary.

"It's going to be a day of styling, make-up and hair and a fashion show as well so it should be a really fun day out.

"The tickets sold out within three days so I was really happy about that and it's definitely something I'm going to be doing more of in the new year."

The top model is certainly kept busy running her self-titled website and juggling family life with husband Brian Ormond and their 18-month-old son Ollie.

And she has also decided to release a new range of wedding invite stationary, having struggled to find anything suitable when she tied the knot. The well-known beauty, who celebrated her 30th birthday over the summer, explained that it's all about finding the right balance between work and family.

"It's pretty hectic, but doing anything when you've a toddler is pretty hectic," she said. "The main thing is just trying to find a balance between work and home life but I'll get there in the end."
