Style queens race to impress Colette

Style queens will be hoofing out to Fairyhouse Racecourse next month for the 2010 Easter Festival. Always a popular event among our discerning fashion fans, the three-day event kicks off on April 4, with plenty of sporting and social action promised for attendees.

But the day to note in your diary is Easter Monday, April 5, given that it's the Most Stylish Lady Competition.

Racing fans will be dusting off their finest designer clobber in honour of the occasion, which is sponsored this year by Carton House in Maynooth.

One lucky winner will walk home with a package worth €10,000, which includes three nights accommodation in the top hotel's suite as well as €500 for food and drinks.

Putting aspiring winners through their paces will be our own columnist Colette Fitzpatrick, who said she was "thrilled" to be judging the fashion clash.

"It's all about being appropriately dressed when it comes to the races. Plunging necklines teamed with short skirts won't be in the shakedown. We're looking for a stylish outfit, well accessorised, that doesn't cost the earth," she said.
