TV personality Laura Woods will be noticeably absent from the line-up tonight when contributors past and present congregate at Montrose to record a special finale episode of RTE series, The Cafe.
The bubbly blonde, who presented the series for three years alongside Aidan Power, had been invited to return to the set for an emotional reunion but had to turn down the invitation as it clashed with a friend's wedding.
Among those who will appear on the show, before heading to Grafton Street haunt Lillie's Bordello for the later celebrations is TG4's Daithi O Se, Kathryn Thomas, Dustin the Turkey, Katie Taylor and, of course, former show waitress Avril Kelly.
Speaking to the Diary, Laura explained how disappointed she was to miss out on the show.
"Unfortunately I can't be there as I have a friend's wedding in Mayo that I absolutely can't miss," she explained.
"It would have been really emotional for me because it was kind of where I got my start in television and I loved the show, myself and Aidan got on fantastically."
The Foxrock native, who is a contributor on the Will Leahy radio show on 2fm, has just landed a gig writing for Peter Kelly's wedding magazine, Brides of Franc.
She will now join her good pal Brian Ormond's fiancee, Pippa O'Connor, as a columnist with the publication.
And while she is more than happy to offer the couple advice ahead of their nuptials, she's adamant she won't be singing at their wedding, like Brian did at hers last September -- joking that she would scare guests away with her voice.
