Stars down'n'out for Joe

HE'S been keeping a low profile since leaving his career on the small screen behind last month but former Xpose presenter Sean Munsanje was more than happy to come out of hiding last night in order to meet his idol, Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott (inset right).

The ex-TV3 star, who will take off on holiday to Italy and Marbella next week, was among those who stepped out to a special VIP event at the Porterhouse in Glasnevin in order to help the legendary singer celebrate the launch of his very own beer, called Down'n'Outz.

Joe (51), who arrived to the Northside venue in style in a luxurious white Aston Martin, explained how he had planned the beer's launch to coincide with the release of his band's new album My Regeneration.

The iconic rocker has just reunited with his bandmates after taking a year apart, which saw the musician start his own band, also named Down'n'Outz.

"I'm delighted to put my name to a beer like this, it's something I've always wanted to do," he explained.

"Beer or lager seems to be the drink of choice at nearly every gig I've ever played so for me it's a cool thing to do."

The star went on to explain how he was honoured to have his wife Kristine, members of his own band, and drummer Brian Downey of Thin Lizzy fame on hand to show their support.

Other guests there to support the musician included Today FM DJ Tony Fenton.

Elliott is also due to launch the new beer at a star-studded bash at the London based Porterhouse next month.

Invitees can look forward to a performance by the man himself on the night, while legendary band Queen have also RSVP'd their attendance.
