Stars come out to party with NY hotel boss John

The top floor of Residence members bar was the only place to be last night for the Fitzpatrick Hotel event.

New York-based hotelier John Fitzpatrick invited many of the capital's leading lights along to help him celebrate ahead of the annual St Patrick's day celebrations next week.

And it was an extra special evening for affable John, given that he's due to pick up the coveted Irish-American of the Year award at a ceremony in the Big Apple next Monday.

"It's a huge honour, I'm over the moon about it," he explained. Joining him at last night's bash were a host of well-known personalities including RTE's Ryan Tubridy, who'll be interviewing the gorgeous Liz Hurley on the Late Late Show tomorrow night.

Other attendees included Kathryn Thomas, Lorraine Keane and celebrity agent Noel Kelly. Also spotted were models Sarah McGovern and Laura Toogood, alongside VIP editor Elaine Prendeville.

Meanwhile, a few streets away in Brown Thomas, there was an exclusive evening featuring plenty of treats for beauty junkies.

Hosted by some of TV3's Xpose team and featuring top make-up artists, the Showtime event kicked off with champagne and canapes before a showcase of this season's hottest looks.
