ACTRESS Sonya Macari, the sister of former Podge and Rodge star Virginia, is celebrating this week after landing a starring role in a Hollywood movie alongside Lost star Eric Lange.
The Diary can reveal the half Irish/half Italian beauty will join a star-studded cast on the set of the new science fiction film Protocol, which has just begun shooting in LA.
Fans of the striking brunette can expect to see her sporting a far less glamorous image than usual however, as she dons green overalls for her role as an officer on the big screen.
"It's set in a kind of a Blade Runner post apocalyptic world," said Sonya who has just wrapped filming on two other films called Caravaggio: The Search and Kissing Strangers.
The Dublin beauty says she's delighted to be working with someone with such a wealth of experience as Eric, who plays Radzinsky in Lost and starred in sitcoms True Blood and Law and Order.
Former star of the Tudors, Sonya shares a luxury pad in Beverly Hills alongside her longtime beau, musician Colin Devlin, the brother of Lorraine Keane's hubby, Peter Devlin.
The loved-up couple got engaged last September and are expected to marry later this year in front of close friends and family.
And in more good news for the pair, Colin's song The Heart Won't Be Denied is set to feature on next week's episode of hit US series, One Tree Hill.
Sister Virginia meanwhile has also been spending plenty of time in front of the cameras recently, after signing up to take part in a new TV3 reality show.
The buxom brunette is set to appear alongside model Pippa O'Connor on a new home-produced series based on Channel 4's The Salon.
