Something in the water? Socialites enjoy baby boom

Congrats are in order to the former owner of The Dubliner mag Trevor White, as the Diary can reveal he became a first-time dad this week.

The columnist is "over the moon" after his fiancee Susan Jane Murray gave birth to a bouncing baby boy yesterday.

Little Benjamin White arrived in to the world weighing an impressive 8lbs 11oz and both baby and mum are said to be doing well.

A close pal revealed how the tiny tot certainly kept his parents waiting -- he was actually due late last month but decided to take his time.

"They are both absolutely delighted and Trevor can't stop smiling. She actually had a home birth and they had a birthing pool set up in their house so she was very brave considering it was her first child," he said.

The pair, who got engaged last year, have put their nuptials on the long finger as they grapple with becoming first-time parents but are hoping to have a ceremony sometime over the coming year.

And there's obviously something in the water among the leading social lights these days given that RTE's Tara Loughrey-Grant also had a baby recently. The movie buff and entertainment reporter became a first-time mum to AJ with husband Adrian Carty.
