Golden couple Morgan Deane and Dave Murphy have insisted they are still together, despite a case of mistaken identity.
The rumour mill went into overdrive this week that Dublin's most eligible bachelor Dave (34) was back on the market after his Facebook relationship status appeared to change from "it's complicated" to "single".
The move caused gossip to swirl that the couple had dramatically called it quits, just six months after moving into a luxury D4 pad.
But the Diary can exclusively reveal that the couple, who have been together for more than a year, are happier than ever. And singer Morgan revealed that the couple are having the last laugh after the rumour spread like wildfire across the capital's social scene.
"It's not true at all. We're madly in love and living together," she said.
"We figured it out. My boyfriend is on Facebook as David Murphy, but there is also a Dave Murphy with 64 friends, all the local socialites, in common with my Dave.
"Obviously through word of mouth the Dave Murphys got mixed up. Mystery solved," she added. Dave also insisted to the Diary that he has never written about his relationship with Morgan on his page. Morgan's best pal Michele McGrath also insisted they are the perfect couple.
"It's not true at all. I spoke to Morgan and she didn't mention a word about it. I know if they broke up she would be on the phone straight away. Dublin is so small for rumours, it's ridiculous," she added.
Stunning Michele, who is just back from a two-week break in Italy with her Welsh rugby beau Mark Siddons, said she would never take the information on her friend's Facebook pages seriously anyway.
"It's just Facebook. I wouldn't take any of it seriously."
Former Industry singer Morgan (25), who has enjoyed a whirlwind romance of 14 months with hunky Dave, decided to move in with him in March after jetting to his adopted home of South Africa to spend last Christmas together.
And according to Morgan it was the sun-kissed trip, which saw the couple take in a visit to Dubai on their way home, which sealed the deal for her.
"It was one of those things where we both just knew we wanted to move in together when we came home," she told the Diary at the time.
But despite the fast pace of their relationship so far, Morgan is adamant that the couple won't be walking down the aisle anytime soon.
According to the chatty brunette: "Marriage definitely isn't on the cards for now. We're taking it one step at a time and I think living together is enough for the moment. It's a big adjustment and we're just taking it as it comes and enjoying ourselves."
The smitten singer first met her 6ft 6in beau through her former bandmate Michele last summer and still enjoys regular double dates with the Assets beauty and her rugby beau.
