Ireland's self-styled Angelina Jolie is back -- but not with a bang.
It should have been a triumphant return to Irish television for Caroline Morahan, after a quiet stint in Hollywood.
But her first outing on TV3's Cosmetic Surgery Show saw a slimmed-down Caroline fail to sparkle.
The former RTE star's new series presented viewers with fairly graphic scenes - and allowed wacky co-star Dr Robert Rey to outshine the Dublin beauty.
A much-slimmed down Caroline is only a shadow of her former self.
Appearing alongside the ultra-smoothie plastic surgeon to the stars, she serves up the inside track on the latest popular cosmetic surgery procedures hitting Ireland and meets the brave souls up for the filming their transformations.
Aside from a few seemingly well-rehearsed frowns and attempts to feign her horror, presumably picked up in one of her acting classes, Caroline's uninterested attitude made for a somewhat lack-lustre result against the show's magazine-style format.
But wearing a simple, black and red checked dress from Littlewoods Ireland, combined with super white teeth, toned-down makeup and loosely curled hair, her natural girl-next-door looks stood out against the garish red set and cringe-inducing scenes of everything from penis enlargements to breast and bum implants.
There was a deliberate attempt to shock as for the first time members of the Irish public bared the insecurities of their naked bodies, like flat-chested sisters Crystal and Jacinta.
Gorgeous Caroline, who has waxed lyrical about her blockbuster acting dreams, was presenting the first of a six-part series on plastic surgery for the Ballymount station.
It marks her first regular TV gig here since losing her coveted spots hosting Podge and Rodge and Off the Rails at the national broadcaster.
Ambitious Caroline was keen to assure people it was nothing more than a handy Christmas job that conveniently popped up while she was home on holidays -- she has since jetted back to her new LA home for another strike at the big time.
