Shayne Ward will be touching down in Dublin

- FORMER X Factor winner Shayne Ward will touch down in Dublin this week when he signs copies of his highly anticipated new album Obsession at HMV Dundrum on Friday at 4.30pm.

A large turn-out is expected, so fans are being urged to visit the store on Thursday from 6.30pm to pick up a wristband to ensure entry is guaranteed -- 300 wristbands are available.

- THE official wrap party for this year's Cannonball race will take place next Saturday in Maynooth, with 20 of the world's finest cars and super cars, including a Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, due to arrive at the Mantra carpark from 3pm.

The NYPD and German polizia will be on hand to add to the excitement.

Later in the evening a VIP after-party will take place at Mantra nightclub, with guests urged to wear fancy dress for the occasion.

- D2 nightclub on Harcourt Street will be the place to be on Friday night when the venue holds its eighth birthday bash from 6pm.

Guests can look forward to complimentary drinks and nibbles, while Superfly will entertain the masses with a live performance.

The celebrations are sure to continue until late, with many of the city's top models and socialites expected to be there.

- DUBLIN'S hippest new venue, Lost Society, formerly known as SPY, on South William Street, officially opened its doors to the public at the weekend.

The White room, originally Lady Powerscourt's dressing room, overlooks the piazza of the Powerscourt Townhouse and has been transformed into a fabulous bar.

The new venue also features a library room in the mezzanine, a Georgian Lounge room and a club area, which will host some of the city's best DJs.

- THE launch of the Models for Moldova 2011 calendar will take place on Wednesday at Buck Whaleys, on Leeson Street, from 6.30pm.

Twelve of Ireland's most beautiful women, including Suzanne McCabe, Michele McGrath, Sarah McGovern, Rosanna Davison, Sarah Morrissey, Lynn Kelly and Irma Mali will feature in the charity calendar.

The catwalk queens have signed up to raise money for orphaned and abandoned children with special and palliative needs being cared for by the Irish charity Outreach Moldova (ORM).
