SHARON Corr is pulling out of her dates at the Westport Music and Food festival next month due to scheduling conflicts.

The Dundalk violinist and judge on the RTE's The Voice had been on the bill for the two-day festival that starts on June 29.

However yesterday she said she couldn't perform in Mayo on the dates agreed.

"Since confirming the date, Sharon Corr's band line-up has changed and the two new band members who are based in the US have scheduling conflicts.

"Sharon hopes to make up to fans later in the year," said a festival spokeswoman.

Already on the bill are Elvis Costello, Christy Moore and Imelda May.

The Stunning, Alabama 3, Damien Dempsey, Ryan Sheridan and Delorentos will also perform at the family-friendly festival at Westport House, one of Ireland's most beautiful homes and parkland estates in the heart of Co Mayo.

More than 60 artists will perform across five stages.

And the festival also boasts a diverse range of food stalls.

REGRET

A message on the 43-year-old mother-of-two's Facebook page stated that the singer and musician was disappointed to have to cancel the dates.

"It is with regret that we have to inform that Sharon Corr will no longer be able to play Westport Festival.

"Since confirming this date, her band line-up has changed and we now have scheduling conflicts due to band member commitments, two of them are US-based.

"Hopefully will be making it up to you in the latter part of the year!"
