Samantha hints she's ready for another pop at chart stardom

Samantha Mumba is considering making another foray into pop music, the Herald can reveal.

However, the Dublin star (27) has admitted that the thought of putting herself out there again is a little terrifying.

Her debut album in 2000, Gotta Tell You, sold more than a million copies before she moved to LA to try and find fame as an actress.

But Samantha said she would hate to suffer the same fate as pop flop Nadine Coyle, whose debut solo album failed to hit the right note with music fans.

"It is daunting, 100pc -- because it's a reflection of you and it falls all on you and I remember the stress of that very well," she said.

The stunning singer turned actress also admitted that when she was approached about a new music project for 2011, it was the last thing on her mind.

"I really wasn't consider-ing it," she continued. "I thought I was done with it but just in the last few weeks, I've had some really interesting opportunities come up, so I don't know.

TOUGH

"I'm going to revisit that in the New Year and see what happens, but it's kind of sounding good. I wasn't expecting that - that's not where I've been focused."

The Time Machine star jetted back home to spend her Christmas in her home in Drumcondra for the first time in several years, as well as launching new Easilocks hair extensions for Ebano hair salon.

And she has insisted that it's only a temporary visit - and her future definitely lies in America, where she feels settled.

"It is tough, but everywhere is tough and I feel like I've done most of what i can do here and there just isn't enough choice and variety. It is a tough industry but it you do the work, hopefully it will pay off," she explained.

She's now happily loved up with American policeman Torray Scales (27), who she has been dating for the past three years.

"He's working this week so he's following me over next week, so that will be nice. It will be exciting to spend Christmas with him in Ireland," she added.

As well as a possible music project, Samantha's also finished work on a new pilot entitled Valley Boys, which sees her playing the fiancee of the lead character.
