Sam enjoys some home cooking on flying visit from LA

Samantha Mumba has vowed she won't be returning home to Dublin anytime soon, after making LA her permanent base.

The Gotta Tell You singer explained how she has made a new life for herself in the States in recent years, with her entire family relocating over there to join her.

However, Samantha admits she was delighted to tuck into some home cooking when she returned to the capital city for a flying visit this weekend.

"I have no plans to move back home at the moment," she told the Herald.

"It's weird, I never would have thought I would feel at home in LA but I do, it's like a proper home to me now.

"I'm just doing the same stuff over there as I would be doing here, I'm really settled.

"Things are quiet at the moment and it probably won't pick up again, acting-wise, until after Christmas.

"It's not a daily thing and you have to accept that if you want to be part of it, it's not like I spend every day hanging out in Hollywood.

"It's nice to be back in Dublin though, I'm looking forward to some good Irish cooking, it's been so long since I've been back home," she added. In fact, Samantha is so serious about her new life across the pond that she's currently in the process of selling a house in Drumcondra, which she bought during the boom times.

The asking price of the five-bedroom house, located in the same estate as a house owned by former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, has dropped from its initial €2.2m price tag to just €1.5m.

However, the ambitious pop star is confident her Irish estate agent has what it takes to close the deal in the coming months.

According to the former Billy Barry kid: "I am trying to sell out at the moment and we're confident we will sell soon.

"The country is in an awful state, it's the same in the States, everywhere is feeling the pinch.

"That's why I'm trying to sell now, before things get any worse," she added.

Samantha, who is signed to the Red Carpet Agency, jetted into town for a special appearance on RTE's the Cafe on Friday night, alongside sports pundit George Hook.

The talented beauty was joined by her boyfriend of over two years, Torray Scales, who enjoyed his first visit to Dublin with his other half.

Samantha explained how she was looking forward to showing him the sights of the city, including a tour of the Guinness Storehouse.

Prior to arriving in Dublin, Samantha and her beau spent some time in London, where they were on the set of the new Mariah Carey music video.

The pop beauty explained how her younger brother, Omero, was involved in the production of the video and revealed that she will also be making an appearance in the much-anticipated production.
