NEWLY single model Ruth Griffin will make her return to the limelight this Friday night when she takes part in a charity fashion show to be filmed for Norway's Next Top Model.
The glamorous mum-of-one, right, has been determined to keep a low profile since splitting with her Munster rugby player husband Alan Quinlan after just two years of marriage.
The couple, who wed at a star-studded ceremony in County Tipperary in June 2008, have an 18 month old son called AJ and have maintained a dignified silence about the reasons behind their split since the news first broke two weeks ago.
However the Diary can reveal that the leggy brunette (34) has now agreed to return to work in order to show her support for a charity close to her heart, The Baby Max Wings of Love Fund.
The glitzy event, which takes place at the Guinness Storehouse, will see all ten contestants from Norway's Next Top Model in attendance, with the cameras on hand to capture footage from the show for a Dublin-based episode of the hit series.
Earlier, the aspiring Norwegian models will take part in a closed fashion catwalk task, with surprise New York celebrity stylist Jennifer Rothwell jetting in to judge the event.
A host of Ruth's closest model pals will also be on hand to offer their support to the model on the night, with Sarah Morrissey, Yomiko, Chloe Arnold, Martha Christie, Karen Fitzpatrick all lined up to join her on the catwalk. Her best pal Sarah McGovern, who married Kenny Vaughan just a month after Ruth's nuptials in 2008, has also been booked to model in the show.
The blonde beauty, who is said to have been a great support for Ruth during the difficult break-up, was tight-lipped about her friend's personal life.
Sarah, pictured above with Ruth, was happy to confirm, however, that she and her college sweetheart Kenny are happier than ever. "It hasn't been the greatest summer in terms of marriage break-ups," she told the Diary. "But I'm glad to say we're very happy.
"It will be our second anniversary the week after next. We haven't made any plans yet but I'm hoping to be surprised with a night away.
"Otherwise we'll probably just go for dinner or something. Last year we went to the U2 concert to celebrate."
Assets beauty Sarah, who says she's a fan of Tyra Banks's hit series America's Next Top Model says she's really looking forward to being part of the Norway edition. The statuesque blonde won't be staying out too late however, given that she has signed up to take part in a five-mile run at the Phoenix Park on Saturday morning.
