Rugby lads get over loss ... by tackling VIP party

IT was standing room only in Lillie's Bordello on Sunday night as the Ireland rugby team tackled a late night warm down.

The Diary can reveal how several members of the squad were spotted in the celebrity haunt after they flew back from their disappointing game in Twickenham.

But determined to mark the end of their Six Nations campaign, regardless, Rob Kearney led some of the troops into the VIP club.

He was flying solo on the night as there was no sign of his actress girlfriend Susie Amy, who was working in London over the weekend.

It was also a double whammy for Kearney (right), given that his old team of Clongowes was defeated in the Senior Cup by St Michael's College.

Kearney was joined in the venue by good pal Jamie Heaslip as well as Brian O'Driscoll's Leinster replacement Eoin O'Malley and prop forward Cian Healy.

Proving the couple's romance is continuing to gather steam, Healy arrived into the club hand-in-hand with his model girlfriend Holly Carpenter.

The pair have been dating since last December and will 'go public' for the first time this Friday when they make their debut at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards.

The rugby lads were ensconced in a cordoned-off part of the members' area as they tried to put their weekend woes behind them.

"The campaign didn't exactly go according to plan for the lads, but they wanted to put the weekend behind them and look forward to what lies ahead for them," said a source.

"There was talk that they mightn't go out at all but they wanted to enjoy a night out after all the pressure of the campaign and Saturday's humiliating defeat.

"The club was absolutely packed on the night as word got out that a few of the lads were in there. Everyone had a great night, there was a brilliant atmosphere."

RTE star Kathryn Thomas also opted to pop into the club, fresh from presenting another live version of The Voice Of Ireland.

The blonde beauty (below) was seen in the VIP area along with some of the cast and crew from the hit RTE show.

Dublin players Bernard Brogan and Eamon Fennell were also spotted, alongside some of the Republic Of Telly cast.

Socialite Jodie Woods partied in Buck's Townhouse -- she's one of the new stars of RTE's ICA Bootcamp which returns to our screens on Thursday.

And the Diary can reveal how girl about town Leah O'Reilly was also due to take part in the reality programme, which earned its first IFTA nomination this year.

But she had to pull out of the show after discovering that it clashed with work commitments for Crystal & Co.

Former Miss Universe Ireland Lynn Kelly was also seen in the Leeson Street club, as she celebrated her 23rd birthday.
