Rubbing shoulders with royalty as Prince Albert parties at Krystle

Prince Albert of Monaco partied the night away at celebrity hotspot Krystle on Saturday night, the Herald can reveal.

The son of Hollywood star and 20th-century icon Grace Kelly stepped into the plush nightclub around 1am, but the VIP suite was so busy that he had to wait for a table to be cleared for him.

The 52-year-old Prince, who was escorted by six security guards and joined by five pals, popped into the exclusive venue unexpectedly and other clubgoers were asked to move from their table in order to accommodate him.

It proved once again that Krystle, currently gearing up for extravagant St Patrick's Day celebrations, is the city's top night spot and the only one with an international reputation.

But there were no hissy fits or diva strops thrown when other guests were asked to move, and the Prince even commented on the warm Irish welcome he received.

He also took time to pose for photographs with guests and was seen dancing with several others late into the night.

The seasoned partygoer commented on the club's sleek interior and said he was particularly impressed by the smoking area.

Albert, who normally stays in Kildare's plush K Club during his visits to the country, was in town to watch Ireland beat Wales on Saturday, but stayed true to his partying roots and decided to hit the club scene during his stint in the capital.

The prince was joined by a number of the country's biggest celebrities this weekend, as Andrea Corr and her husband Brett Desmond, Jerry Springer and rugby legend Jonathan Davies were all spotted in the club on Saturday night.

And on Friday night the posh club also played host to the afterparty for the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards, with award winners and nominees all spotted in the club's VIP suite until the early hours of the morning.

Special guest of honour Katie Price was spotted in the club along with her entourage, and other celebrities seen were Boyzone singer Shane Lynch, the country's newly crowned Most Stylish Man Daithi O Se, Claudine Keane and her mum Joan, and Grainne Seoige.

Although she was on a ski trip with pals in Val D'Isere, Rosanna Davison was still the talk of the town as her other half, Wesley Quirke, was seen in the elite hotspot on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The Dr Quirkey's heir insisted that he and the former Miss World are still a rock-solid couple in spite of her jetting off on two different foreign holidays without him recently.

Speaking to the Herald, Wes explained that he had simply chosen not to go skiing with his beauty queen girlfriend and insisted they are still an item.

"Rosanna and I are fine," he said. "We're still a couple, despite what everybody's been saying.

"I was never meant to go skiing with her. One of her friends couldn't make it on the trip so she stepped in instead.

"I'm just so sick of all the press. I'm done with all that, I don't want to know about it anymore," he added.

But it was his younger brother Andy who caused one of the biggest stirs of the night on Saturday after falling down the stairs and having to be attended to by medical personnel.

The socialite and former boyfriend of Assets model Louise Kavanagh had tripped and fallen, banging his head off the tiles on the floor. Andy (24) had been enjoying a night out with his older brother and a number of their pals when the incident happened, leaving him badly bruised and shaken.

"Andy's fine, luckily he didn't break anything but he's pretty badly bruised," said a close friend.

"When security at the club saw what had happened, they insisted on calling the paramedics to have him checked out.

"The bouncers were afraid he might have been concussed and needing to go to hospital after the fall, but he was given the all clear and told to go home and take it easy," they added.
