RTE's golden girl Laura Woods has jumped ship to rival station TV3's Ireland AM.
The bubbly blonde has been eager to return to work on TV after the birth of her son in January.
But the former presenter of youth programme The Cafe, has found it difficult to find a home at the national broadcaster.
Laura (34) has now been snapped up by TV3 to step into Anna Daly's shoes on the early morning slot.
The Dubliner also worked as the entertainment reporter on 2fm's Will Leahy Show and returned from maternity leave in May of this year. Laura said that she is eager to get her teeth into the new role, which will be on a freelance basis.
"The early morning starts that come with having a new-born baby have been great training for this job -- I'm really looking forward to working with the Ireland AM team," she told the Herald.
Anna Daly (33) is herself on maternity leave to care for her son James Scott Ward.
Meanwhile, presenter Ray Shah has admitted that he would love a stint on Xpose once Aisling O'Loughlin goes on her maternity leave.
Shah recently quit his job with Q102 for a new job on TV as Domino's entertainment correspondent.
"I suppose it's all up to them whether they go for a guy or a girl when Aisling goes on maternity leave but there's no way I would turn down the opportunity if it came along," he said.
