Rosanna and Glenda back together again.....sort of

She shares the same name as the only Irishwoman ever to win Miss World.

Now newly-crowed Miss Universe Ireland Rozanna Purcell (19) is hoping she can be as successful on the international stage as Rosanna Davison.

The brunette beauty, who is studying politics in UCD, surprised no one but herself by winning the coveted title, which will see her jet off to Las Vegas to compete in the world final on August 23.

Meanwhile at last night's event, Rosanna with an S made a rare public appearance with Glenda Gilson since the so-called Ranelagh Rumble.

The former Miss World caused a stir when she flew to Morocco with Glenda's ex, Johnny Ronan, after the incident between Johnny and Glenda.

Last night, onlookers said the two women managed to avoid any situation that would have facilitated a tete-a-tete at the beauty contest.

Glenda departed the Wright Venue immediately after the festivities, leaving Rosanna to rule the roost at the star-studded after party.

An insider insisted: "Glenda is working all weekend at Oxegen so she needed to get some rest."

Glenda co-hosted the glamorous event with Ireland Am presenter Alan Hughes, while Rosanna was the chairperson of the celebrity panel of judges.

Luck

Speaking to the Herald, top model Rosanna (26) said: "We're both professionals. We're on a professional stage so I would never let anything get in the way of that."

As Rozanna with a Z heads to the US next month for the Miss Universe competition, she's hoping that the luck of her name will translate and she can be the first Irish woman to take home the coveted title.

But the Clonmel native, who was runner-up in last year's competition, told the Herald that despite being heavily tipped to win, she was more nervous than ever this year.

"I think there was just a lot more pressure this year. I heard people saying I was going to win but, honestly, I was shocked that I won because I had no real expectations.

"I'm really excited, overwhelmed and a little bit tired," she laughed.

"The next month is going to be jam-packed basically organising and preparing for Las Vegas."

The 19-year-old, who is already on the books of the Assets modelling agency, said she plans to become a "fitness freak" as part of her preparation for the main event next month.
