Rory lost the Masters but his lovelife is back on course as Holly returns

LOOKS like Rory McIlroy has got a birdie after all.

As the young Irishman licks his wounds following the astonishing Masters collapse at Augusta, estranged girlfriend Holly was at his side.

The pair split last year, but it now looks like an emotional reconciliation has been salvaged from the ashes of Augusta.

The 21-year old sensationally lost the US Masters to South African Charl Schwartzel after a catastrophic collapse in the final round of the first Major, when he was four shots ahead. His dismal downturn on the golf course included a disastrous three-hole stretch on the 10th, 11th and 12th when he dropped six shots.

But it seems every dark cloud has a silver lining and Rory has at least won one big prize over the weekend.

Rory and Holly set tongues wagging at Augusta yesterday, where they proudly showed off the fact that they are very much a couple.

A source close to the pair revealed: "Rory's spirits lifted the moment he saw Holly and he gave her a big hug.

"His face lit up when he saw her standing there."

And now Holly is joining her other half as he jets off for the Malaysian Open, where he will be joined by the new Masters champion Schwartzel.

"Off to Malaysia today, got to get a bit of shopping in 'cause I only packed an overnight bag. Mainly consisting of sweats," she said before jetting off yesterday.

The loved-up couple began dating when he was just 16 and Holly was 14 in their native town of Holywood, Co Down.
