Robbie to tackle Marco Pierre White as soccer stars cook in charity Hell's Kitchen

Robbie Keane will show off his cooking skills when he lines out for a charity version of Hell's Kitchen.

The Herald can reveal the Irish star is in talks to join two of his Celtic teammates on the stage for a special fan event in Glasgow on March 18, which will see the players face a roasting from hot-headed chef Marco Pierre White.

Robbie (29) and his fellow Celtic players will prepare a meal from start to finish under the watchful eye of the fiery cook, before diners at the Marco's Celtic Kitchen event vote for their favourite course.

Guests will also have the chance to grill the three cooks on their experience after the meal, with a live Q&A to be hosted by Marco himself, during which the best chef on the night will be announced.

The initiative is modelled on a similar event which took place in Scotland late last year.

Then, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay put established chefs Stephen Doherty, Willie Pike and Joe Queen through their paces.

However, unlike the F-Word presenter's charity ball, where the trio of stars was announced in advance, every precaution is being taken to ensure the identity of Marco's three footballer guests are kept under wraps until the grand unveiling at the €1,500-per-ticket event at Celtic Park.

Insiders revealed how Robbie was first to volunteer his services.

"Robbie jumped at the chance to sign up for the challenge when he heard about it," a source close to the footballer revealed.

"He actually considers himself quite the cook so this would be a great opportunity for him to show off his stuff.

"He feels it's important to show his loyalty to Celtic because he's only there for such a short time."
