Robbie and I are simply over the moon with our new life in LA - Claudine

ROBBIE and Claudine Keane have told family members that their move to LA is a dream come true.

The first insight into camp Keane has come from Claudine's mum Joan who has revealed to the Herald that the couple are "over the moon" with their new life.

And the glamorous grandmother says her daughter is looking forward to forming a friendship with fellow WAG and style icon Victoria Beckham.

"She would have met her before while they were both living in London but they don't know each other that well. I'm sure all that will change now," Joan said.

"David and Robbie have known each other for years, they would both come from very similar backgrounds so have a lot in common," she continued.

Malahide mother Joan says her daughter will find life in LA easy to adapt to.

"She is made for LA -- it will suit her down to the ground," she told the Herald.

"Claudine rang me as soon as she landed in LA, she couldn't get over the reaction they got," she said.

"She was like 'Mum, they love us over here, the photographers were all calling out my name at the airport when they were taking pictures'."

Tallaght native Robbie has already proved his mettle on the pitch after scoring a goal just 20 minutes into the game against San Jose Earthquakes at the Home Depot stadium last weekend.

His proud wife Claudine (27) watched from the sidelines. The smitten couple, who have a baby named Robbie Jnr, will start house-hunting in earnest next week.

The ace skipper will be making sure he comes back to Ireland for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovakia on September 2.

Former Miss Ireland contestant Claudine has already made a big splash with the US media, who voted her ahead of Posh Spice in a 'hot body bikini battle'.

A "tip sheet" sent to LA photo agencies showed pictures of the two beauties on an American showbiz website with the headline 'Who'd you rather?'.

In less than 24 hours, more than 106,000 votes were cast -- with Claudine receiving 58pc of the votes.

Her husband is also proving massively popular with LA Galaxy's fans, if the sale of jerseys is any indicator.

Replicas of his new number 14 shirt, ranging in price from €62 to €118, were vying for popularity with David Beckham's famous number 23 jersey over the weekend.

The 27,000-capacity stadium was completely sold out with many supporters attracted by the first start for the Irish captain.

His new manager Bruce Arena said they were "elated" with Robbie.

"I think he had a great 70 minutes for us tonight, and we think there's a lot of great games ahead for Robbie and our team," he said.
