Right place, right time ... how Leanne bagged Eurovision gig with Jedward

It was a case of being in the right place at the right time for a young singer who has been parachuted into Jedward's Eurovision performance.

Dreams can come true -- as Leanne Moore found out when she happened to be standing next to Louis Walsh when former X Factor contestant Rebecca Creighton pulled out of the show.

Leanne (26) was handed the plum job by Louis who knew her from her auditions with girlband Wonderland.

"We were backstage at the Westlife concert when Louis got the news. Thankfully RTE staff know me from You're A Star and Louis knows me from my auditions for Wonderland so they turned to me. It was really a matter of I was in the right place at the right time!" a delighted Leanne told the Herald.

The Limerick lass added that she has had to "pinch" herself since hearing the news and vows she is a true "Jedward believer".

The upcoming popstar admits that Louis told her she had a tough road ahead: "When Louis asked me to do it he told me 'you really have to put in an awful lot of work'."

The 26-year-old is working to a tight schedule as she heads to Dusseldorf in just a fortnight and still hasn't begun rehearsals.

"I had their song 'Lipstick' on my phone before, so I knew all the lyrics already, we had a good sing-song last week."

And Leanne insisted that although Jedward have a reputation for being quirky "they really have their heads well screwed on".

It's always been Leanne's dream to get to the Eurovision. She first hit the public screens on You're A Star in 2008 and later was among the top 10 finalists in Eurosong 2010. Now the singer is finally heading for the European stage -- broadcast live to an expected audience of 20 million -- and with a song that she says "will definitely win".
